Way Down Yonder Legacy Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the culinary heritage of New Orleans while expanding access to education, workforce training, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity.

Founded by mother-and-daughter team Yonder Gordon and Yonder Miller, the Foundation is rooted in family tradition, lived experience, and a shared belief that culture can be a pathway to empowerment.

Their journey from home-grown recipes to successful restaurant ownership inspired a mission to help others build skills, pursue meaningful careers, explore entrepreneurship, and create opportunities for themselves and their communities.

We use food, hospitality, and entrepreneurship as tools for connection, education, and economic opportunity, creating hands-on learning experiences that prepare individuals for careers, leadership roles, and independent business ownership.
